Day 22 & 23

Favorite parade?

Spectromagic!!!! I love the music for this parade!

What is the scariest ride?

Snow White's Scary Adventure! It says it in the name.  The queen is just so creepy looking!

And then the phone rang....

It Finally Happened!

So I can’t believe I am just now right a blog entry over my interview. I set up my interview for 10:30 a.m. central time. So I woke up at 9:30 that way I could be wide awake for the interview. At 10:25 I went and sat at my kitchen table by 10:27 I was pacing around my kitchen. I’m not a very patient person when it comes to important things! 10:30 rolled around and no call. I thought to myself oh no big deal I’ve read that they usually are a few minutes late. At 10:37 the phone rang. I was so excited I think I almost dropped the phone. The woman that interviewed me was named Rhonda and she was SO nice! We actually talked about a lot she was really friendly and I felt comfortable talking to her. She asked me what my top two rolls were. Which I responded Attractions and Hospitality. She asked me a lot about the two rolls. We had a couple of laughs and she told me that they usually try to get back to us in 3 to 4 weeks. I am very excited and nervous at the same time. If I do not get accepted I will be okay I’m just a sophomore and I have plenty of other opportunities to apply. Before the interview Attractions was my first choice but in the interview she asked me a lot of Hospitality questions and now I’m thinking I would really enjoy working Hospitality. I really do not remember a whole lot about my interview questions. A lot of the questions were about previous work experience. I am replaying everything in my mind and there are a few things that I would like to do over but hey you can’t change the past! Anyways I am hoping and praying for a good turnout! Good luck to those applying and waiting on those purple folders. :)

Let it snow (or not!)

Tomorrow is a very important day!  At 10:30 in the morning I am going to answer the phone with sweaty palms (ew) and hopefully have a great interview and by 11:00 it will all be over with and I can finally breathe again. After another long restless night I finally got some sleep and awoke to 4 or more inches of snow on the ground. I’m usually okay with snow but not today. I had to get home in time so I could prepare for the interview and be well rested for the morning. But my apartment complex is at the bottom of a hill and my car does not handle in snow to well, not to mention my car covered by snow! Luckily I have great friends at school that helped me clean off my car and get it up the hill. Yay for awesome SIC athletes!!!! So I made it home and I still feel extremely nervous!!! So wish me luck!!!
Special shout out to Ernest, Gabi, Katie, and Ellie for helping  clean off my car (luv you all)!

Day 21

Today’s question is…
Favorite character to see in the park?

What an easy question…
Enough said....

Online application completed

This must be fate! Today started out as a stressful day. Last night I couldn’t sleep at all, the last time I remember looking at the phone it was 4:15. So today I woke up 9:15 only to realize that my alarm clock had been set for 8:00 p.m. instead of a.m. so I wasn’t in the best mood. Then I received a text message saying that my next class (the only one I had left for today) was cancelled. Luckily for me my softball practice was also cancelled so I had the entire day to do nothing.

For some reason I had the urge to get on http://www.wdwcollegeprogram.com/ where I noticed that they were no longer looking for just culinary arts participants but for fall ’11 participants as well! So I sent out a mass text to my family explaining what I would be doing. And I clicked on Apply Now and Get Started.

Watching the E Presentation – unfortunately my school does not have the presentation but in a way I am okay with that. I have seen the E Presentation a few times (helps me get my Disney fix) so this time was nothing new except… THIS TIME I AM ACTUALLY APPLING!!! About halfway through the presentation I thought to myself will these people ever shut up? Not because I didn’t enjoy the presentation because trust me I did! I just really wanted to get on with the process.

The Online Application- to be honest it took me a good minute to get the courage to click continue. I have test anxiety, and it is even worse knowing that this is something I really want to do.  While answering the question I kept preparing myself for rejection. I kept thinking to myself that if I didn’t pass I would just try again for the next available Spring Program. I was so nervous! When the last question turned into the page that said next steps phone interview. I actually started screaming I couldn’t believe it.  I called Disney College Recruiting and was put on hold for 2 minutes which was fine by me because the hold music was there’s a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow (foreshadowing hopefully!) Then I scheduled my interview for Friday at 10:30. Then I called everyone in my family to tell them the news! They were all very happy for me!

What is next? -  To be honest I don’t know that answer. Tonight I am going to hang out with my roommates and friends and have a great time! Tomorrow I have softball practice and basketball games. Friday 10:30 interview then who cares! I am so excited I feel like I am on top of the world and I haven’t even been accepted. If the phone interview goes badly I will be very upset, but this is God’s plan if he wants me in Florida that’s where I’ll be and if not I will start next fall at SIU and apply again for the Spring Program.

Any Advice? – Well I am not a good person to give advice since I have not yet been accepted or even had the phone interview. But I do have a few tips. Tip #1 DON’T BE NERVOUS! (do as I say not as I do) Nerves had me so stressed while doing the interview and I hope that no one reading this goes through the same stress that I faced!  Tip #2 be consistent and tell the truth!!! Tip #3 have some fun!!!

So as my final thoughts for this post I will leave you with this...
There’s a great, big, beautiful tomorrow
Shining at the end of every day
There’s a great, big, beautiful tomorrow
And tomorrow’s just a dream away
Man has a dream and that’s the start
He follows his dream with mind and heart
And when it becomes a reality
It’s a dream come true for you and me

So there’s a great, big, beautiful tomorrow
Shining at the end of every day
There’s a great, big, beautiful tomorrow
Just a dream away

Day 20

Exciting news coming! But first today’s question…

Favorite Walt Disney World dessert?
I appologize because this also is going to be a snack. As mentioned before we do not eat much in the parks. But in 2009 when I went with my friend and her mom after every meal we had to have ice cream! I got the same kind everytime...

Day 19

The Question is...

What is your least favorite attraction?

I know that a lot of people will disagree with me but my least favorite attraction is The American Adventure. It's just so boring! But I love the singing outside of the show!

Day 18

The question is...

What attraction do you wish they would bring back?

To tell you the truth I don't remember too many rides that have been taken out. We never went on the attractions that were removed from Epcot. I guess my answer is Mr. Toads Wild Ride.

Day 17

Todays question is...

Favorite Restaurant?

Well to be honest my family doesn’t usually eat on property, we are very picky eaters so it’s just better for us to go to a chain restaurant. But we have eaten at a few. Last year we ate at

Whispering Cannon located at the Wilderness Lodge Resort. We also have eaten at Chef Mickey’s, Rainforest CafĂ©, and The Crystal Palace. My family would disagree about which restaurant I liked better (they like Whispering Cannon) but I really enjoyed the Crystal Palace, because of how pretty it is, the characters and good memorites of my brother marching in the Pooh parade (I know what your thinking aww thats cute, No its not! he was 20 at the time.) I am not much on breakfast and that’s basically all we eat at Disney so it’s probably not good to have me answer this question.

I would post the pictures of me and my family eating at the Crystal Palace but... my brother dropped his camera in the water when boarding the Pirates of the Caribbean (probably to get rid of the pooh parade pictures)  so here is a picture from Google images.

Oh and my favorite quick service resteraunt is...
Colombia Harbor House
(just for you Glenda!)

Day 15 & 16

So I missed yesterdays question... See I told you I was forgetful but anyways yesterday and todays questions are...

Favorite Walt Disney World Resort?

So the Disney resorts I have stayed at are:
All Star (Sports)
Coronado Springs
Port Orleans French Quarter
Port Orleans Riverside
Caribbean Springs
Dolphin (not technically Disney, but oh well)
Animal Kingdom Lodge
Wilderness Lodge
Of those my favorite is Wilderness Lodge. It’s a great resort and from our room we could see the Magic Kingdom fireworks (Amazing!) It has a great theme and it is so peaceful.

And the resort I am dieing to stay at is The Boardwalk Inn Resort

And todays question is...

Favorite snack to grab in the parks?

Delicious Disney Cupcakes!

Day 14

Favorite Animal Kingdom attraction?

I think that Expedition Everest is an awesome attraction. The first time I rode it I thought to myself what is the big deal, but on the next trip we took I really enjoyed it! I love waiting in line and looking at all of the things in the que.

Day 11, 12, and 13

Sorry I’ve missed the last few days. I have been at school where I have been very busy.
Monday’s question was…
Favorite Hollywood Studios area?
Sunset Boulevard

Tuesday’s is…

Favorite Hollywood Studios Attraction...

Tower of Terror = Amazing

And todays question is...

Favorite Animal Kingdom Area?

Sunday, January 9, 2011

Day 10

Question for today is...

Favorite attraction in the worlds?

I guess my favorite would be the ride at Norway.

Saturday, January 8, 2011

Day 9

Question for today...

Favorite attraction in future world?

My favorite would have to be Test Track! I love everything about this attraction. Even waiting in line.

Friday, January 7, 2011

Day 8

So the question of today is....

Which is your favorite in Epcot, future world or the worlds?

Hmm that’s a really tough question. I like Future World and the World Showcase they both have so much to offer. Future World has great attractions but the World Showcase is  beautiful! Ugh it’s so hard to choose but I guess Future World. I guess I’m just a sucker for great rides!

Thursday, January 6, 2011

Day 7

Yo Ho Yo Ho Todays Question is....

Favorite attraction in Adventureland?

Another easy question for me to answer! I really love this ride. I can’t explain why it’s just an awesome attraction. I also love the movies and the addition of Captain Jack to the ride was pretty cool. I also enjoy it because it was the last attraction that Walt worked on, so it's definitely classic!

Wednesday, January 5, 2011

Day 6

I have been waiting for this question...

Favorite attraction in Frontierland?

That could possibly be the easiest question ever!!! My favorite ride at Disney (and Frontierland) is Splash Mountain! I love this ride!!! I usually ride Splash Mountain at least 4 or 5 times a trip. Yeah that ride is pretty much amazing!

Tuesday, January 4, 2011

Day 5

The lovely question of the day is....

 Favorite attraction in Liberty Square?

Wow… What a difficult question! Not!!! Even though the presidents are okay every once and a while it’s just not one of my favorite things to do at Disney. The Haunted Mansion definitely wins this round!

Monday, January 3, 2011

Day 4

Today the question is...

Favorite attraction in Fantasyland?

Even though the line for this attraction is way to long and the ride itself is way to short, Peter Pan's Flight is my favorite attraction in Fantasyland. I love the movie and I think it is fun to "fly" over Neverland.

Sunday, January 2, 2011

Day 3

The Question of the day is....

Favorite attraction in Tomorrowland?
To be honest I like every attraction in Tomorrowland! Even the usually despised Stich's Great Escape (my family hates me for making them ride it every year). But my favorite would have to be the popular Space Mountain. No reason in particular, its just a fun ride that is a classic.

Saturday, January 1, 2011

Day 2

Today's question is...

Favorite Land in the Magic Kingdom?

I must admit that my favorite land is Frontierland. I have no explanation why really. I looooove Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain is a pretty good ride too. This is usually the first land that me and my family visit when we go to Magic Kingdom (other then walking through Main Street ). I also think the theming of Frontierland is really cute!

Happy New Year!!!!!
